Ramey Napa Valley Claret 2016 Review
Historically the British called Bordeaux wine Claret due to the lighter color of the wines back in the day. Ramey has gone full francophile on this wine with the exception of some American oak and a touch of Syrah in this kitchen-sink blend, coaxing out a fun, left bank-style wine, with an easy mouthfeel and notes of plum, dark cherry fruit and a hint of graphite and cedar for good measure. If this is the way we do Claret in the U.S. sign me up.
