Pollak Vineyards Meritage 2017 Review

Owners Margo and David Pollak were pioneers in the Carneros sub-AVA of Napa, and could have stayed in Napa. But they saw a challenge in the Commonwealth and founded Pollak vineyards in 2003. And it's so great that they did. The wines they are producing are wonderful welcome-to-Virginia-wine wines. Like this red blend. It is so balanced with a good depth of fruit that is kept in check by great natural acidity. The fruit is deep and savory, and the tannins, with some good age, melt into the wine.
