Nalle Winery Ranch Red 2020
Review
The Nalle family is part of the fabric of Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley. Founder Doug Nalle and his wife Lee both come from families that have been working with wine since the '20s. Today, the family still runs the winery with their son Andrew as winemaker and his wife April as viticulturist. It’s hard to capture how awesome this wine is in a review. There's so much to be said about the two grapes that make up this wine and their ties to the history of this region. Zinfandel ran the game here until Cab came around and displaced it. And to see these two grapes together in such harmony is an American wine triumph. It’s earthy and rich with bright blueberry, cherry, and floral aromas on the nose. The palate has amazing structure and harmony. This is American wine history in a bottle.
