Moreau-Naudet Premier Cru Forets 2020 Review

Chablis is generally known as one of the most angular expressions of Chardonnay, especially compared to its neighboring communes to the south in Beaune. The late Stéphane Moreau saw a different approach in his vineyards, embracing biodynamic and other sustainable practices. His wife and assistant carry on his legacy, and this wine definitely shows this approach. This is a deep Chablis with notes of lemon curd and a hint of crème de menthe. It has a comfortable weight on the palate with a round and robust mouthfeel. Punching through the weight is excellent natural acidity, bringing some balance and minerality to the wine. This is a great entry to the region if you are used to heavier Chard and want to ease into Burgundy.
