Mi Sueno Winery Los Carneros Chardonnay 2016 Review

Careneros is one of the coolest regions in Napa and Chardonnay made there can still be big, but when done well, the acidity retained in the grape is the key to balance. Here is a good example of this. Make no mistake, this is one of the big ones, but it has enough restraint that the creamy mouthfeel is enjoyable with notes of stone fruit like apricot and baked pear. There is a slight hint of lime oil and some tangerine vibes wading into some nice minerality, pronouncing sweet vanilla from the oak and french butter from controlled malolactic conversion.
