Mary Taylor 'Filipe Ferreira' Douro 2015 Review

A great balance of flavors from native grapes, the wine opens with notes of ripe tomato and tight red currant along with some mint and dill. The palate is well structured, with firm but balanced tannin framing additional aromas of plowed earth, blackberries and plum. This is a great representation of winemaking skills for someone who hasn’t enjoyed this region yet.
