Iterum Clone 114 Orchard House Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019 Review

When a wine hits right, it doesn't matter if it's something familiar or unknown. It just hits. Pinot Noir is very popular in the U.S. these days, but the pioneers of the Willamette Valley have been doing the work since the '60s to prove this variety can thrive here. It's wines like this that show U.S. Pinot Noir can go beyond just being successful, it can be transcendent as well.

Joe Dobbes has been a Pinot Noir pioneer in Oregon, and the first vintage from his new venture sets a standard. It has a deep, thoughtful nose with classic heady cherry aromas tinged with quiet oak. The palate is full and engaging with just the right amount of acidity and depth of fruit to cause your senses pause and be like, what? A great American Pinot Noir.
