Division Winemaking Company Malbec "Côt" 2018
Review
A former banker and a winemaker with experience in French vineyards walk into a winery. Well, they actually began one. Co-founders Thomas Monroe and Kate Norris are true earth nerds. They are attuned to the power and vulnerability of nature and attempt to harness that in their wine. This Rouge Valley Malbec (Called "Côt" as a nod to the variety’s original home in Southwest France) is a symphony of awesome with aromas that cannot be denied and that dance together, sharing the stage. Mint, Rhubarb (like the pie), cola, and cinnamon are all present and accounted for as well as an earthy soil vibe. The palate is soft but chewy with added cedar notes. A great American wine.
