Daou Vineyards 'Bodyguard' Red 2019 Review
This wine is so interesting. With all the various varieties of grapes to play with in Paso Robles, Daou decided to stick with just two in the Bodyguard. And not even the typical Cabernet Sauvignon or Cab Franc. It's just two petits – Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot. And man does it work. The nose and palate are what both of these grapes give to a blend. Deep, dense fruit and color with a soft yet powerful palate. The concentration of fruit is dense, but that natural Paso acidity comes through and brightens things up just a bit. Enough for a lean steak
