Corey Creek Coquillage Chardonnay 2021 Review
Marin Brennan, the assistant winemaker at the pioneering Bedell Cellars started the winery's small batch series at Corey Creek Tap Room in 2019 to craft unique wines to showcase the North Fork's terroir. In a first for this wine-lover, this is a Chardonnay that has been “aged on sea shells foraged from the shorelines of the North Fork.” That is nuts! And it sooo works! This wine is awesome. The nose is clean minerlaity with mild fruit. The mouthfeel is soft and full, coating the palate. But, the wine has excellent acidity that shows the slightest hint of brine from the seashells. The balance in this wine is incredible.
