Cline Cellars Estate Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2017 Review
This brand is full of surprises. In a sea of large production wines, Cline pulls off balance at the most affordable of price points. This wine won’t turns heads, and the alcohol is a bit high, but it’s a solid, easy drinking Pinot that hits most of the right notes to be a great house party go-to. Over-ripe cherry fruit and sweet wood and vanilla are the main cast here, and not much else, save for a hint of earthy beetroot (soil). The palate is chewy, with a slight heat that wafts in and out of your brain, but lean enough that you won’t really care. At $15 a bottle this is a great wine to have for spontaneous streaming buddy binge nights.
