Clif Family Winery Napa Valley Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 Review
The two vineyards this wine comes from are on the top of the famed Howell Mountain in Napa. Above the fog line there are more sun hours, and it takes a skilled winemaker like Laura Barrett to get the balance right. This is a bold, powerful wine with an elegant edge full of red currant, cherry and blackberry notes typical of this style of wine, but it’s the earth tones that make this wine just awesome. It’s like tossing all of these characteristics into a freshly raked pile of leaves in Fall.
