Buttonwood Grove Rosé 2022 Review

David and Melissa Pittard bought the Buttonwood winery in 2014. They had both grown up within 35 minutes or so from the farm and it just made sense. David had grown up on his family’s orchard so he had a real visceral love for the land and attended Cornell College of Agriculture. They expanded, renovated, and became part of the community, making award winning wine and hosting live music. This rose is as intriguing as their story. A blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, this wine is so fruit-forward. Exciting aromas of watermelon and the sweet kiss of candied citrus peel fill the palate. There’s even a dose of tart strawberry for good measure. The wine is bursting with bright active acidity, making it zingy and alive.
