Basil Hayden Toast Review
Basil Hayden Toast became the fourth permanent expression in the brand's lineup when it launched in 2021. The name references a finishing period in toasted barrels, but what's also notable about this whiskey is that the rye used in the brand’s normal bourbon mash bill has been replaced by brown rice. Both factors contribute character and concentration of flavor to the smooth-sipping 80 proof spirit. Notes of vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak come alive on both nose and palate.
