Amelia Cremant de Bordeaux Brut Rosé NV Review

Sparkling wine from Bordeaux? Yep, they've been doing it for over 100 years and although these wines are not as proilfic as the still wines of region the rules are bit looser and the blends can be more creative than other Cremant producing areas, which means they can be pretty damn interesting, like this one. Done in the traditional method from Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the Amelia is tight with persistent bubbles and an effervescence of strawberry mousse from the Merlot, while still being bright and crisp due to the verge of the Cabernet Franc. At $20 a bottle there are so many occasions that will call for this crowd pleaser.
