Altocedro Malbec Reserva 2018 Review
Winemaker Karim Mussi has cedar trees surrounding his family’s vineyards. They are considered sacred in his native home of Lebanon but also are majestic, robust, and long-living trees. The name "Altocedro" is a nod to these trees, but also to the determination of this winemaker to produce sustainable wine that reflects the land in which the vines grow here in the Uco Valley. This Malbec is an excellent testament to this journey. It is expressive and peppery with big, juicy fruit that counters savory notes well. This wine has great natural acidity which comes on a chewy, balanced palate. This is a special Malbec.
