Ricardo Santos El Gran Malbec 2018 Review
It’s not too often we see an aged Malbec from Mendoza on our market, so it’s nice to see this bottle at an affordable price and with some years on it. It’s coming along very nicely. The fruit is still dense but is leaning into some savory notes of balsamic and a hint of pepper. The palate shows that Malbec’s tannins, when made well like this, take time to dissolve into the wine. Here, you can tell they are fading but still have a presence to add structure and texture to the wine.
