1792 Straight Rye Review
Coming out of Sazerac’s “other” distillery — Barton 1792 — this is every bit as good as the more ballyhooed ryes from Buffalo Trace. There’s no age statement (though it’s at least four years old) but there’s plenty of maturity here. There’s baking spices and some herbal dill notes, caramel and vanilla, some malty hints, and toasted oak — it’s archetypal Kentucky rye and, at 100 proof, punchy enough for cocktails.
