Booker’s The Reserves 2026 Review
If the initial 2016 edition of Booker’s Rye is one of the most acclaimed American whiskey releases of the 21st century (with a secondary market price now to match!), this second ever rye release from the Jim Beam high proof label won’t quite reach that stratosphere. But it’s still worth your time. This is six year old straight rye finished in apple brandy barrels and infused with cinnamon. “Why?!!!!!!” yells the taters and, yes, you may presume the finishes were done to elevate whiskey that wasn’t turning out so well. Whatever the case, this Booker’s “Fireball” as some are derisively calling it is just what it claims to be: cinnamon spicy, apple pie with vanilla ice cream and a caramel drizzle, and a deep, oaky finish.
