The Story Behind The Earl Grey Hot Toddy

If you love a good warming beverage in the winter, but whiskey isn’t your spirit of choice, try the Earl Grey Hot Toddy, developed by Rob Masters of Denver’s The Family Jones. This riff on the classic swaps out whiskey in favor of Earl Grey-infused gin, distilled at The Family Jones, which carries notes of Earl Grey tea, citrus oil, bergamot, and a slight sweetness from time spent aging in bourbon barrels. With cinnamon simple syrup and a dose of fresh lemon juice, it all combines for an inventive take on the Hot Toddy you know and love.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces hot water
  • 1 ½ ounces The Family Jones Earl Grey Juniper Jones Gin
  • ¾ ounce cinnamon simple syrup
  • ¾ ounce fresh lemon juice

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a mug and stir before serving hot.
