Booze-filled advent calendars are fast becoming the must-have adult countdown to Christmas. From Aldi’s sold-out wine calendar to spirited options such as Drinks by the Dram, there’s something for every boy and girl.
Tapping into the growing trend, Direct Wines is working with a number of award-winning producers to launch a brand new, premium Wine Lovers’ Advent Calendar, Food & Wine reports.
According to the official press release, a quarter bottle (187ml) awaits behind each of the calendar’s 24 windows. Though none of the producers have so far been named, the “delicious offerings” are set to include “top grower Champagne with two gold medals, fine Bordeaux from the exceptional 2015 vintage, five-star estate Rioja, barrel-aged Chardonnay, and much more.”
The award-winning wines come with a price tag to match. At $129.99, the calendar is nearly double the price of Aldi’s offering, and drinkers are advised to place their orders by November 19 to guarantee delivery in time for December 1. It’s available through three online retailers, with free shipping to 33 states.
