Yellow Spot Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey
Review
This harmonious blend of single pot still whiskeys was bottled at 12 years old after aging in either bourbon barrels, sherry casks, or Spanish Malaga casks. (The latter is a sweet Spanish dessert wine made from Moscatel and Pedro Ximénez grapes in the Andalucia province.) Without sugar-coating it, we can confidently say that this is the most expressive and enjoyable Irish whiskey we tasted this year. It offers something new with every sip, showcasing a range of flavor that evolves from dried apricots and raisins all the way to crisp autumn apples, vanilla beans, and caramel.
