XYZin Old Vine California Zinfandel 2017 Review

The moment this wine hit my palate I was in love. When I think of old vine Zin I am looking for more concentration of flavor, with pronounced separation of character and acidity that is abundant; this is a solid example. This wine is true to the old vine style. It's a fruit forward, full bodied wine with interwoven tannins and jammy blackberry and plum that linger on the finish with a slight savory note of smoked meats and earth. It's a great value for the price, and a wine to hold as an example against others that claim this style.
