Wolffer Estate 'Perle' Chardonnay 2017 Review
Roman Roth is one of only a few winemakers on the South Fork of Long Island and hands down the most successful making New Yorkers swoon over his rosé every year, emptying shelves in seconds. That stuff is fun and good but what he is doing with Chardonnay is even more incredible. This wine wafts with bright lemon curd and all kinds of tropical fruits with a dollop of peach and honeysuckle for good measure. On the palate the high tone, saline minerality brightens the mouthfeel while remaining lengthy on the finish with almond and Jasmine aromas to see you off. This is a wonderful wine and worth the price tag for those who enjoy the lighter side of Chardonnay.
