Weingut Franz & Christine Netzl Chardonnay 2021 Review
Austria is known more for its Grüner Veltliner and field blends called Gemischter Satz. But Chardonnay is in almost every wine region on the planet and it’s up to the winemakers to guide this extremely malleable grape towards good wine with the terroir they have. The Netzl winery is all about their land and its sense of place and this Chardonnay shows that. This wine really packs a punch. It’s high-ish alcohol brings welcome depth while extremely lively acidity bounces around punching through the heft. This is a great everyday refresher.
