Wagner Vineyards Unoaked Chardonnay 2017 Review
Five generations of winemaking in the FInger Lakes means the Wagners have had some legit real estate for a long time, and those swaths of earth must be known to them like family. What they accomplish with this un-oaked lake effect Chardonnay is a testament to the quality that can be achieved here at any price range. Crisp and clean on the nose, with notes of saline or wet flint rock joined by a refreshing lemon/lime vibe, this wine will trick you with a fun surprise. The palate is deep and rich while still holding all the aromas and characteristics in place. At $11 this is one hell of a steal and is a great wine to have around for a spontaneous get together or a last minute wine run. It will turn heads, especially after a sip.
