Viña Cobos Bramare Malbec 2021 Review

This Malbec comes from renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs' Argentina-based project, Viña Cobos. The grapes are sourced from several vineyards in the Uco Valley with altitudes between 3,115 and 4,855 feet. The high elevation and stony soils in this region give the wine great depth and structure.  The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, lending complex notes of tobacco, leather, cedar, and baking spices to the wine. The palate has concentrated black fruit notes like brambly blackberries and stewed plums, held together by a firm tannic structure.
