Turks Head Wines Olson Vineyard Merlot 2023 Review
Turks Head makes wines from the cool-climate vineyard sites of Sonoma, but also has a tasting room in Pennsylvania. This wine comes from the Olson vineyard, a backyard plot that was planted in 1998, nestled 540 feet up on the slopes of Sonoma Mountain. The area’s elevation comes through in this wine: there’s soil and worn leather on the nose, with the slightest hint of cured tobacco and blueberries. The palate is absolutely beautiful, with soft medium fruit supported by just the right amount of acidity.
