Tinto Negro Malbec Lujan de Cuyo Mendoza 2017 Review
Is this Malbec? It says it on the label, so I guess it is, but it’s unlike so many affordable examples out there, as it is balanced and aromatic, vibrant and smooth on the palate with bright acidity and joyous (yeah I said joyous) aromas of fresh strawberries and bramble fruit jumping around with some earthy cherry bark (a way of saying that the cherry notes are mingling with some tree bark aromas and this just sounds sexier). I don’t know if this wine knows it, but it’s pretty damn special. It’s the Malbec at the party that gets all the high fives. If more Malbec from Mendoza can be like this on the affordable level we’ll all be better off. Sipping this wine just makes you want to put on some beats and dance.
