The Balvenie French Oak 16-Year-Old Review
This Balvenie 16 is finished in Pineau des Charentes casks, which makes it among the most unusual aged Scotches on the market — in a good way. The impact of the French fortified grape must casks is prominent on the palate, joining notes of ripe stone fruit and dark berries. The overall mouthfeel is bright and lively, serving as a good antidote to bolder, full-bodied aged whiskies. This is a truly unique offering.
