Tenuta di Nozzole "La Forra" Chianti Classico DOCG 2013 Review
Giovanni Folonari, owner of Tenuta di Nozzole, once worked for large brands like Mondavi and Ruffino, so it makes sense that his wines are big and rich. This single vineyard Chianti Riserva is just that: rich, round and chewy with classic aromas of sour cherry, tobacco leaf, and earth, with slight floral notes. The tannin structure is quenching and dives into the core of the wine as the acidity whips around the edges, amplifying the aromas. This is a big, beautiful wine for Chianti and deserves a big Italian inspired meal.
