Shirvington McLaren Vale Shiraz 2013 Review
Winemaker Kim Jackson has made wine in California and Burgundy, and you can sense that in this Australian Shiraz. The wine is powerful, with deep hues and a bold mouthfeel, but then everything gets silky. The tannin is prominent, yet interwoven, the bramble fruit and savory balsamic are broad, yet calmed by earthy tones. This wine is what Shiraz is supposed to be. It will hang with any hearty meal and is meant for more than just BBQ.
