Sagamore Spirit Bottled in Bond 8-Year-Old Straight Rye Review
This Maryland-style straight rye is produced from two mash bills distilled, aged, and bottled in the state. The age statement and higher proof are quite welcome compared to their (still very good) Small Batch Rye. There’s a spicy, medicinal aroma — Benadryl perhaps? — with a palate of stone fruit, cherry cola, and Werther’s Originals. The bonded proof and flavor profile would work wonders in a Manhattan.
