Rusack Vineyards Ballard Canyon Zinfandel 2016 Review
Man this wine is big, and well, big. It comes at you quick with the heat of alcohol then lets you enjoy other aromas like stewed tomatoes, plumbs and vanilla with oak. But there remains the aroma ethanol layering the wine like cake frosting. There are levels of intensity for this grape in Cali and if our range was from one to ten, this one would go to eleven. It’s only available from the winery’s website and is just under $50, so if you dig boozy, big Zin for sipping and are not pairing with food (unless your slathering BBQ sauce on everything) this is for you.
