William Chris Vineyards ‘Hye Pot Club Lepard Vineyards’ Mourvèdre 2015 Review
The emerging Texas wine industry is experimenting with a plethora of grape varieties, but this bottle demonstrates why Mourvèdre has quickly become a standout of the state. Pale, with fragrant blueberry fruit aromas and a savory edge, this is unlike any other Mourvèdre out there. Tart and juicy, with few tannins and bright acidity, this is more akin to a ripe, cru Beaujolais than anything else. Odd, but interesting.
