Tasca d’Almerita 'Il Tascante' Nerello Mascalese 2014 Review
While hearty and fruit-forward, this Sicilian red seems one-note initially, but a healthy decant reveals layers of anise, sweet spices, cayenne pepper, ash, and cigar underneath. The palate bites with underripe strawberry, flower stems, and bitter herbs. It has the potential to unfold even more pleasantly in coming years.
