Grounded Wine Co. 'Steady State' 2015 2015 Review
2015 'Steady State' is second-generation Napa Valley winemaker Josh Phelps' first vintage of this Cabernet-driven blend. Consisting of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot, it's a dark garnet color, with aromas that include black cherries, blackberries, a hint of peppermint, nutmeg, and an earthy scent reminiscent of a strawberry patch. It's a smooth texture, with a nice balance between fruit and savory flavors. Stylistically, it's very elegant and somewhere between a modern, opulent wine, and a more traditional, nuanced style. This is an impressive first vintage that will appeal to many types of Napa Cab fans.
