Finback Double Sess
Review
Session ales, by definition, are meant to be sessionable, meaning imbibers may enjoy one after another. For many, this won't be the case with Finback's Double Sess(ion). For those who like their spices front and center, however, this cloudy yellow, spiced wheat beer is a Pandora's box of in-your-face fragrance and flavor. Bold additions of ginger, pepper, chamomile, and zippy citrus are either heavy-handed or have nowhere to hide in this medium-light-bodied brew. Sparkling carbonation lifts the citrus notes and makes the spices more palatable, though. Together, all the features of this brew back Finback’s claim: “for all the hefe-haters who want a great summer beer.”
