Ramey Sonoma Coast Syrah 2015 Review

Ramey picked all the best sites and all the best clones of their Syrah holdings, blended in 6% of Viognier and created an amazing wine. This Syrah has depth, nay, density, and texture all day long, with soulful notes of white pepper, smoked meat and hints of black olive. There is a quiet but present citrus note due to the Viognier balancing those more savory aromas. It's a perfect balance of the inherent characteristics Syrah displays in it's homeland in the Northern Rhone and how this grape can thrive in the sun and fog of the Sonoma Coast.
