R. Lopez de Heredia Viña Cubillo 2013 Review
R. Lopez de Heredia is the oldest in Haro and one of the first three bodegas in the Rioja region as well one of the first three bodegas in region. The winery was born out of a love for wine and passion that founder Don Rafael López developed after French winemakers came to the area to avoid phylloxera. The Bodega is focused on modern winemaking anchored by tradition keeping an open mind and making the best wine possible as trends change. This is a wine that stands the test of time in Rioja. It has a focused, medium body with soft notes of blackberries and earth. The is a slightly lithe character to the winemaking is a great bottle for a cheese party. It is extremely well-balanced and a real sip of history.
