Pearse Lyons Ha’Penny Four Cask Irish Whiskey Review
Pearse Lyons offers plenty of more expensive and more ornately packaged whiskeys — many tried in this tasting — but this more humble release out-performed them all. A blend of both malt and grain whiskeys aged in four different cask types — port wine, sherry butt, ex-bourbon, and double charred barrels — creates an intensely complex pour. There’s clear wood sugars and spices on the nose, with a palate rich in caramel, vanilla frosting, and dried fruits and nuts.
