Oban Aged 15 Years Port Cask Finish Review
This limited edition release is the second in the brand’s 15-year cask-finished series (the first, Oban 15 Year Old Cask Strength Sherry Cask Finished, was well-celebrated by us last year). Though not quite as effective as sherry, the port casks likewise elevate Oban’s signature maritime character. Here, the sea salt and earthiness are met, but never outshined, by a juicy, Hi-C fruit punch-like quality. There are wisps of smoke in the background, with some chocolate and baking spice notes. This one is for Oban stans or newcomers to the brand alike.
