Montezuma Winery 'Voleur' Traminette Skin-Fermented 2020 Review
George Martin was a beekeeper for thirty years with locations in Maine, Florida and New York. He eventually turned to fermenting his honey and settled in New York to establish a meadery. This was the natural path that led to wine. Today, the Martin family makes fruit wine and mead. This skin contact wine made from the hybrid grape Traminette is a testament to the skill of Montezuma Winery. The nose is like apple juice with a spike of brandy (the wine only has 12% alcohol so it’s a fun aroma) and a hit of ginger and orange blossom. The palate is dry and lean with a tight fruit concentration and great acidity.
