Matchbook Dunnigan Hills Estate Bottled Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 Review

There is Petit Verdot as well as a small amount of Malbec in this wine and somehow it is still under 14% alcohol, affordable and a good value. The balance of the wine is just slightly off, with the eucalyptus and plum notes outweighing the inherent brambly fruit and cherry aromas. But the vanilla from the oak comes in and softens everything, seaming up the blend. At well under $20 this is a solid party wine or a bottle to have on hand for a spontaneous get together.
