Review
The Brandlin family hails from Switzerland. When they got to California in the late 19th century, their alpine heritage naturally led them to the top of Mount Veeder in Napa County. A place many had not ventured due to the challenges of mountain life. They grew orchard fruit and grain selling to the valley. This is Napa, so eventually they planted vines, some of which are still there. Today, the winery still knows how to work the mountain, because this wine is wonderful. This Cab has an oak-rich nose with a good dose of red fruit. The oak brings a touch of sweetness to the aroma profile. The palate is balanced and harmonious between fruit and acid. The tannins still need time to chill, but it's drinking well now.
