Maker's Mark 46 Review
This release was developed as Bill Samuels Jr. was stepping down from his post at Maker's Mark, and designed to deliver a profile he has described as “Maker’s on steroids.” To achieve that, the distillery developed a proprietary stave finishing process, which contributes amped-up caramel, vanilla, and baking spice notes, and a long, complex finish to the bourbon. This is a fantastic release that punches well above its price point.
Maker's Mark 46 Pros And Cons
Pros
- Takes the Maker’s profile to bold new levels
- Sweet, wheat-forward profile
- Great value for money
Cons
- New packaging is less distinctive than before
- Some may find it to be too oaky
