Lieu Dit Santa Barbara County Rosé 2022 Review

Eric was a restaurant guy and Justin was a winemaker. They came together over a love of wine and in 2011 and partnered up to express native Loire Vally varieties in the microclimates and marine soils of Santa Barbara. They focus on Melon De Bourgogne, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Franc, like this rosé. Pink wine made from Cab Franc can hit like no other and is one of this wine geek's fave grapes for rosé. This is one of the coolest examples from the U.S.

Raspberries, herbs, and green pepper on the nose are softened by punchy fruit. The mouthfeel has that good-good acidity that races through the wine, promoting a balanced creamy palate with awesome fruit. The wine gives just the right amount of the grape’s signature pepperiness that only adds to the complexity of the wine.
