Lang & Reed North Coast Cabernet Franc 2021 Review

Tracey and John Skupny moved to Napa in the early '80s. The pair soon became obsessed with the unique characteristics and aromas of Cabernet Franc. Although this variety is mostly used in blends, Tracey and John set out to give this grape center stage and show off its beguiling flavor profile. This wine does just that. It has a nose that draws you in with layers of tart berries and earth. There's a good structure on the palate with a drying mouthfeel from young tannins that will melt away with time. The fruit depth is wonderful and ready to settle into its aging process. This wine drinks well now, but will shine in another year or two.
