Along with malted and unmalted barley, this release includes 2.5-percent oats in the mash bill. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but it plays a major, positive impact on the whiskey’s character. On the nose, the distinctive scent of breakfast oats mixes with fresh apples and baking spices. The cereal is also present on the palate, adding a distinctive flavor and a creamy, rounded mouthfeel.
