Jura Seven Wood Single Malt
Review
For a whisky that has journeyed through seven different oak casks — hence the name — oak influence does not get in the way of the distillate here. Instead, that maturation gives the nose rich layers of fresh vegetal aromas, underripe cherries, toast, and a subtle wisp of smoke. The palate comes out swinging with concentration and robust spice, while tannins add to its smoky complexity. Given its price point, this bottle is an impressive release with a lot to offer.
